Batman: The Animated Series Gotham City 76271

The new set, called Batman: The Animated Series Gotham City 76271, is pretty big, counting in at 4,210 pieces—bringing its price to a fitting $299.99. It’s not exactly a typical Batman set though, as its modeled as a backdrop—a 2D-ish build of Batman’s Gotham City. Though based on a cartoon, this set is targeted towards adults, mostly. I mean, Batman: The Animated Series debuted in the 90’s after all!

This set is set to release on April 4th, 2024 at LEGO.com!

It is super cool, featuring, literally, a ton of details, including 15 panels that are removable. Behind these panels, you can find the interior of man buildings, including well-known Batman locations such as Arkham Asylum, the Batcave, and Wayne Manor. Inside some of the panels, you can also see hints and objects relating to Batman’s villains (even some that aren’t included as minifigures).

The set includes 2 sticker sheets used throughout the display. Also, you can see a tiny Batmobile and Batwing—both of which can be removed from the display! The entire model can be easily hung on a wall, but also includes a stand that allows it to stand straight on a flat surface. Something else noted in Lego’s description of the product is the inclusion of 2 sets of instructions. Apparently this allows 2 people to simultaneously work on this set. Perhaps one instruction builds one side of the model and the other builds the opposite side?

The set itself measures 30 in. / 76 cm wide, 2.5 in. / 6 cm deep, and 16 in. / 41 cm high.

Minifigures

Despite its huge size, the set kind of lacks when it comes to minifigure inclusion. This is something the Batcave – Shadow Box also lacked, unfortunately. Despite sporting over 4,000 pieces and despite the seeming endless roster of Batman: The Animated Series characters and villains, we will only be receiving 4 figures. The figures are Batman, The Joker, Harley Quinn, and Catwoman. All of these actually look really well-done, with fitting prints and colors to match the cartoon aesthetic.

Even though these figures are so exciting for us Batman fans, it would have been nice to receive a few more villains in such a huge set, such as Two-face, Mr. Freeze, The Penguin, The Riddler, or Poison Ivy—I mean we already have so many different Batman, Joker, and Harley Quinn minifigures! For now, though, Batman fans are going to have to stick with the 4 minifigures we are given.

This set is a perfect gift for DC superhero fans, Batman fans, and anyone who loves the animated Batman series. It’s also a great gift for yourself if you have spending money!
