Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs’ Cottage: 43242
It’s going to be a big one, with a $219.99 price mark and a piece count of 2,228! The set itself is called Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs’ Cottage, set number 43242. Here are the dimensions as well: it will be 14 in. / 35 cm long, 7.5 in. / 20 cm wide, and 8 in. / 20 cm tall.
This Lego set will be released on LEGO.com on March 4th, 2024. That is, unless you are a Lego Insiders member—then you can get this set on LEGO.com starting March 1st! If you would like to learn how to join Lego Insiders, see here: How to Join Lego Insiders, it’s free and easy to join!
The model, as you can see by looking at the pictures, features the cottage Snow White stumbled upon in the original cartoon—the one where the seven dwarfs lived! It’s very neat looking, with rounded shapes and vibrant colors—giving it a well-fitting cartoony vibe. With its shape and structure, it appears accurate to the cartoon as well.
On the interior, we can see a piano-room, a dining room, the dwarfs’ bedroom, and a storage attic. Included in each room are details and furniture, such as each dwarf’s bed and dining chair, a fireplace/cooking pot combo (the hearth glows with the help of a Lego light brick!), dishes and food, and, lastly, a piano.
Other than the things inside the cottage, this set includes some fun details that come separately from the house as well. I included pictures of these—you can see that this set also includes a chest full of diamonds, for the dwarfs, a glass casket for snow white to lay in and await her prince, and a well—like the one Snow White is peering down when the prince first meets her.
Minifigures
There are ten minifigures included, which is pretty cool. Seven of the minifigures, as you may guess, are the dwarfs’: Doc, Grumpy, Happy, Sneezy, Sleepy, Bashful, and, last but not least, Dopey. The other figures include a Snow White and Prince Florian, like the ones appearing in the new Disney Castle, and the wicked old-lady-disguise version of Snow White’s evil stepmother, only known as the Evil Queen (who also appears in the recent Disney Lego set, Villain Icons). I personally think all of these minifigures are well-made—I love how each dwarf clearly expresses their unique personality on their head. The dwarfs are also all given short minifigure-legs, keeping them shorter than Snow White, as they should be.
There are also several animals, which fits nicely into the Snow White feel. There are six of them, including squirrels, birds, a rabbit and more.
So, what do you think about this set? I think it is definitely one of the best, recent large Disney sets. This one is cool, because unlike some of Lego’s latest Disney sets, this one is actually based on a singular cartoon, featuring a ton of minifigures from just one show.
