Lego’s newest addition to its Art theme will be a 3D art build of the Amazing Spider-man!
Coming August 1st, this set will feature a Spider-man crawling out of his own art frame. The set will be priced at $199.99 on Lego.com and will have 2,099 pieces. The frame can be hung on a wall like a real picture. The set will be slightly 3D—sticking out from the flat frame. The Spider-man will also be somewhat poseable in that his head will be able to turn and his fingers can be moved.
The set will feature a QR code inside that gives builders a link to a soundtrack they can listen to as they build the set. Whether this is Spider-man music or some other kind of music is not mentioned.
The art style of this set is based on a Spider-man artist named John Romita Sr., who drew Spider-man in 1966.
The set is similar to previous comic-inspired Lego Art sets, such as LEGO Jim Lee Batman” Collection.
Though the set is pretty expensive, I do think it is really cool compared to previous Lego Art sets. I love how the spider-man is moveable and that he pops out of the frame.
