Lego VIP Being Replaced By Lego Insiders

Crazy Lego News: After all of these years, Lego VIP is ending. Don’t panic quite yet though, as it is getting replaced by something called ‘Lego Insiders’. Keep reading below to learn more about what changes are going to be taking place within Lego.

What is Lego Insiders?

First off, this change is going to be taking place on the 21st of August, 2023. During this shift, all Lego accounts are going to be merged into Lego Insiders. This means all Lego accounts (for members over 18), including Lego Life Magazine accounts, Lego Life App accounts, Lego Ideas accounts, and Lego VIP accounts will all combine into one single account called a Lego Insiders account. How this merge will take place has not been announced, but VIP members should be automatically transferred.

VIP Points?

Here’s the big question: What about VIP points? The good news, is that points are staying. On August 21, all Lego VIP points will be automatically transferred to become Lego Insider points. Also, Lego Insider members will still be able to earn points when purchasing products on Lego.com. Whether the value of points will change has not been mentioned.

Register Existing Sets for More Points

After this change, you will now be able to obtain 20 points for every instruction manual you scan. This includes any instruction manual with a QR code on the front—these can be from sets you already own or from sets you get in the future. The QR code can be found in the bottom right corner of the manual.

Early Access to New Sets and Events

Similar to Lego VIP, members will still have early access to some things, including new set releases. Members will also still get access to exclusive Lego gifts when purchasing certain sets from Lego.com.

Lego Insider Community

Lego Insiders will be able to become part of the Lego community by participating in Lego Ideas, commenting and leaving reviews, and having access to in-store events.

What do you think about this change? Let me know in the comments why you think this is happening or your opinion on these changes. I am personally shocked Lego is making such a huge rebranding change—and not using the term ‘VIP’ is going to be hard to get used to.
