Baby Dinosaur Rescue Center – 76963

The first set is a small 139-piece set featuring 2 minifigures and 5 dinosaurs—all for $39.99. The two minifigures aren’t anything too special—Darius and Sammy, two characters we’ve seen in the past (Though Darius dons a new outfit).

Four of the five dinosaurs are small, baby dinos, but I don’t see this as a problem—there’s always a need for tiny dinosaurs in anybody’s Jurassic collection. The dinosaurs included are an adult blue Pteranodon, a brown and tan baby ankylosaurus, a gray baby triceratops, a green baby velociraptor, and a gray, slightly bigger velociraptor.

The set is a 4+ set, meaning it’s designed in a way that’s super easy to build—perfect for young children. The model includes a simple-designed truck, two dinosaur-care stations, and several food pieces. Also notable is an included egg piece with a printed dinosaur eye peeking from its cracks.

This set will be releasing on January 1st, 2024.

Dinosaur Fossils: T. Rex Skull – 76964

This set is much different and unique. Instead of being a regular minifigure and dinosaur typical Jurassic Park / Jurassic World Lego set, this one takes a whole new turn—appearing more similar to something you’d see as an adult Lego Icons or Lego Ideas set. The set looks big, but only contains 577 pieces and will also be priced at $39.99.

The model features a T-Rex skull, a footprint mold impression, and a plaque describing details of the aforementioned dinosaur.

One thing I would like to point out is the name of the set (Dinosaur Fossils: T. Rex Skull). To me, this seems to imply that there could be future Dinosaur Fossils sets? Maybe not, but I find the title interesting. Let me know in the comments below what you think about this.

This set is very neat and it takes a whole different step than we’ve seen Lego take with this theme—I guess we’ll have to wait to see if they come out with more sets like this.
This set will also be releasing on January 1st, 2024.
