Most of Lego’s Super Mario Bros. sets are targeted towards a younger audience—using large, built figures and app-powered play. Lego’s newest set, however, is another adult-targeted set—featuring a 9 in / 23 cm tall Piranha Plant model: Piranha Plant: 71426.
This set will be releasing November 6th 2023 and only consists of 540 pieces. Unlike Lego’s previous adult Super Mario sets, this one is quite affordable, pricing at just $59.99—comparing to The Mighty Bowser” pricing at $269.99, the Super Mario 64″ Question Mark Block
, pricing at $199.99, and the Nintendo Entertainment System”
, pricing at $269.99. Based on price, the Piranha Plant model is a clear outlier, compared to all previous adult Mario sets. Unlike these other sets, the Piranha Plant has no digital play functions related to the Lego Super Mario Figure or the Lego Super Mario App.

Something notable about this model is that it is fully poseable—with a moveable head, mouth, leaves, and stalk—all displayed in a green, buildable pipe. There are also two small coin elements in the set, that are hard to see In the photos, though you can see them in them barely photos below:
The set’s full dimensions are: 9 in / 23 cm high, 4.5 in / 11 cm wide, and 6.5 in / 17 cm deep.
This set is the perfect gift for all adult Super Mario Bros fans and looks great as a small shelf decoration.
