What’s New in the World of Lego?

Lego is always amazing us with new and exciting builds, themes, and products. Whether you are a fan of classic Lego, Lego Ideas, Lego Super Mario, Lego Marvel, Lego Jurassic Park, or Lego Star Wars there is something for everyone in the latest Lego news. I want to share some of my favorite upcoming and current sets:

Lego Icons Eldorado Fortress

One of the most anticipated sets of the year and the one I am very excited about is the Lego Icons Eldorado Fortress (10320), a tribute to the iconic Lego Pirates set that was released in the late 1980’s. I’ve only run across the original set a couple of times in my life, and I will definitely be buying this new release.  This set features a brick-built base with tons of detail in the rooms, a pirate galleon with printed fabric sails, (I am so excited to see fabric sails!) working cannons, and eight minifigures. The set also has a reconfigurable layout that allows you to create different scenarios and stories.

Eldorado Fortress will come out on July 7, 2023, for $124.99

Lego Ideas Hocus Pocus

Another bewitching set that will excite Disney fans is the Lego Ideas Hocus Pocus: The Sanderson Sisters’ Cottage (21341). This set is based on the classic movie from 1993, featuring the witch sisters’ cottage. The cottage opens multiple ways to allow easy viewing of the great details inside. Showing the gift shop, cauldron, light brick fire that illuminates, the book of spells, and the bat infested bedroom. Turning the waterwheel outside makes it appear that pink smoke is puffing out of the chimney. The set includes 6 characters as minifigures; Sarah Sanderson, Winifred Sanderson, Mary Sanderson, Max Dennison, Dani Dennison, and Allison Watts,. Thackery Binx is also included as a cat!

The Disney Hocus Pocus: The Sanderson Sisters’ Cottage will come out on July 4, 2023, for $229.99

Lego Super Mario The Mighty Bowser

If you are looking to level up your Lego Super Mario adventures, you might want to check out the Lego Super Mario: The Mighty Bowser (71411) set. This 2,807-piece set features a huge Bowser figure that is fully posable and has very authentic details. The set includes a castle tower with a rotating platform and a lava pit. The set also comes with four action bricks that interact with the Mario, Luigi, or Peach figure. Using these will play boss music and allow for an epic boss fight using scan tiles. He even fires fireballs. You can create your own boss battles, defeat Bowser once and for all, and relive our Super Mario memories.
