Lego just released tons of new sets on August 1st. I compiled a list of some of the most notable releases, including Star Wars sets, Sonic the Hedgehog sets, Donkey Kong sets, and Batman sets. Of course, Lego has released so much more, including Mario sets and City sets, but I was just going to look at the most popular releases. New Star Wars Sets
Three of the new Star Wars sets out today are mech-characters—this is different as I think we only usually see these themed mechs in superhero sets. They are interesting that way and in that they don’t really come from any Star Wars media. The mechs include a Darth Vader” Mech, a Stormtrooper” Mech, and a Boba Fett” Mech. Do you think these are cool? I would really like to see how other people feel about these–let me know in the comments what you think about these sets. See them below:
Yavin 4 Rebel Base is the biggest Star Wars set today. It contains 1,066 pieces and a whopping twelve minifigures! The set is highly detailed and includes some interesting features, including a command room, a briefing room, two rotating turrets that shoot studs, a Y-wing, and a ceremonial stage and minifigure medals. See it below:
There are two more Star Wars sets released other than the ones mentioned above. These are Yoda’s Jedi Starfighter” and 332nd Ahsoka’s Clone Trooper” Battle Pack. These sets are inexpensive and are really cool. The 332nd Clone Trooper Battle Pack is especially a good deal, as it includes four clone minifigures for only $19.99. See it below:

Sonic the Hedgehog Sets
A new Lego theme has just arrived, and it is Sonic the Hedgehog! There are 5 sets released now that include characters from the Sonic world, including Sonic, Tails, Amy, Dr. Eggman, and Dr. Eggman’s robots. There is Sonic vs. Dr. Eggman’s Death Egg Robot, Sonic’s Speed Sphere Challenge, Sonic’s Green Hill Zone Loop Challenge, Tails’ Workshop and Tornado Plane, and Amy’s Animal Rescue Island. All of the sets include yellow rings, animals for Sonic to save, and bad guys based on Dr. Eggman’s robots.
These can all be seen below:

Donkey Kong Sets
Donkey Kong sets have arrived as well! The new Donkey Kong theme includes four sets and these new sets are a part of the Mario theme and can interact with Mario, Luigi, and Peach minifigures. The sets include Donkey Kong’s Tree House Expansion Set, Dixie Kong’s Jungle Jam Expansion Set, Diddy Kong’s Mine Cart Ride Expansion Set, and Rambi the Rhino Expansion Set. I wrote a whole post about these sets earlier, you can see that here!

New Batman Sets
There are four new Batman sets this August, including Batwing: Batman vs. Joker, Batmobile”: Batman” vs. The Joker” Chase, Batmobile” Pursuit: Batman” vs. The Joker”, and Batman Construction Figure. Unfortunately, all three of the minifigure-including sets seem extremely similar, including a 1980’s-ish Batman minifigure, a Joker minifigure, and a vehicle. I wish these would have been more mixed up—including more characters from the 1980’s Batman movies. The sets also seem a little overpriced for what they are. It’s cool to see new Batman sets though, and you can take a look at these below:

Batmobile”: Batman” vs. The Joker” Chase
